The Viennese photo forge Lomography expands its portfolio with another color variant of a long-standing classic in experimental analog photography. With the Fisheye No. 2 Graffiti, the well-known 35mm camera appears in an eye-catching, street art-inspired design.
Technically, the compact model remains true to itself and delivers exactly what enthusiasts of the format have always expected: a characteristic, circular image effect, straightforward operation, and plenty of room for spontaneous snapshots on standard 35mm film.
The defining feature of the camera is the fixed lens with a focal length of 10 millimeters. It covers a field of view of 170 degrees and provides the typical, strongly curved perspective where straight lines are noticeably bent.
The optical system works with fixed focus and a fixed aperture of f/8, so photographers don't have to worry about focusing or aperture rings. The minimum focusing distance is a short 10 centimeters, allowing close-ups with deliberately distorted proportions. A small optical viewfinder, which shows the extreme angle of view and can be removed if needed, aids in composition.
For exposure control, the Fisheye No. 2 Graffiti keeps it simple. In addition to a standard shutter speed of 1/100 second for normal daylight shots, there is a bulb mode for long exposures. This allows the shutter to remain open manually as long as the shutter release is pressed.
In low light or indoors, the built-in flash kicks in, powered by a standard AA battery. A useful tool for creative experiments is the multiple exposure switch. It allows you to expose the same section of film as many times as you like without advancing the film.
The body completely omits accessory connections such as a tripod thread or a cable release socket. The camera is designed as a straightforward tool for your pants or jacket pocket, mainly used on the go for quick actions, at parties, or during city strolls.
