Fujifilm will reduce its slide film lineup and therefore discontinues one film and some sheet films.
As Fujifilm (UK) recently announced, the Japanese film manufacturer will reduce its range of slide films. Thus, the Fuji Velvia 100F (35mm, medium format, and large format) will be completely discontinued. The "F" is important, the Velvia 100 will continue to exist. In addition, the popular Velvia 50 will no longer be available as sheet film in 4x5 and 8x10 formats.
The Fuji Velvia 50 will still be available as 35mm and medium format film. The last delivery of the discontinued formats and the 100F will reach Europe in December 2012. The photo giant cites the widespread adoption of digital photography as the reason. Nevertheless, Fujifilm will continue to offer a wide range of films for the enthusiastic analog photography community.
