And two more films gone. The Fujifilm Reala 100 and Superia 400 are discontinued as 120 film

The discontinuation of films seems to have no end at Fujifilm. After the Provia 400X and the Neopan 400, we reported, now two medium format films have to follow.
As British Journal of Photography reports, the Fujifilm Reala 100 120 (Amazon) and the Superia 400 120 (Amazon) will also disappear from the range. The Superia 400 will continue to be available as a 35mm film. There is no official statement from Fujifilm at this time.
What alternatives are there for these two films? Both are color negative films, for which fortunately there is still a somewhat larger selection compared to slide films.
The Superia 400 could be replaced with the Pro 400H (Amazon), also from Fujifilm, or the Kodak Portra 400 (Amazon).
An alternative to the Reala 100 would be the Portra 160 (Amazon) from Kodak.
In conclusion, we can only hope that Fuji does not discontinue any more films and perhaps brings something new or brings back an old film. The best way we can help is probably to buy lots of films, preferably those that have not yet been discontinued, and thus signal demand.
