Halina Vision 300

The Halina Vision 300 stands out as a compact camera that is ideal for spontaneous snapshots. It comes from Haking based in Hong Kong and was sold with a matching bag and wrist strap.

Camera characteristics

The permanently installed 35 mm camera lens cannot be exchanged. Although the exact focal length is not given, it should be between 28mm and 35mm. An autofocus function is missing as it is a focus-free model, where the focus setting is predefined. A protective flap ensures that the lens remains protected from damage and dirt.

The camera controls aperture and exposure time automatically, so manual adjustment is not necessary. However, it could be that the same aperture value and shutter speed are used for all shots.

Of course, the camera is also equipped with an integrated flash. However, special features such as a “red-eye reduction” mode are not available. There are also no options for attaching a tripod or using a self-timer. Instead, a wrist strap can be attached to the camera.

The Halina Vision 300 requires two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) to power it, although using rechargeable batteries is a smart choice.

Film options for the Halina Vision 300

According to the user manual, the Halina Vision 300 accepts 35mm film. These films are still available today from various suppliers and can be developed.

The recommended films for this snapshot camera include, for example, the Kodak Ektar 100* for color images and the Ilford Delta 100* for monochrome images. Other manufacturers such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma also offer suitable films.

The photo negatives of the Halina Vision 300 measure 24 mm x 36 mm. An automatic mechanism takes care of transporting the film after each shot, while a counter on the top counts the shots already taken.

At the end of the film, it is automatically transported back into the cassette. Only then should the housing be opened to remove the film for development. To prevent damage from exposure to light, never open the case until the film is fully rewound.
