Halina Ansco Easy Vision

The Halina Ansco Easy Vision presents itself as a compact snapshot camera that was designed for spontaneous recording moments. The Hong Kong company Haking is responsible for the manufacture and marketed them with the imprint “Halina” and “Ansco”. Thailand is specified as the country of manufacture.

With a permanently installed 35mm lens, the Halina Ansco Easy Vision is a simple companion for everyday photography. Although the specific focal length is not given, it could be between 28mm and 35mm.

The model does without an autofocus and instead offers a fixed focus setting, which is classified as focus-free. The shutter speed and aperture cannot be adjusted either.

An integrated sliding door effectively protects the lens from possible damage and contamination.

Of course, the camera also includes a built-in flash, although special modes for reducing the “red-eye effect” are not available on this model. There are also no connection options for a tripod or a self-timer. Instead, a hand strap can be attached for more convenient handling.

The camera is powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), although using rechargeable batteries is a sensible option.

Film options for the Halina Ansco Easy Vision

According to the user manual, the Halina Ansco Easy Vision is equipped for the use of 35mm film. These film variants are still available from various suppliers and can be developed.

Suitable films for this pocket camera could be, for example, the Kodak Gold 200* for color photography and the Ilford Delta 100* for monochrome shots. Providers such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma also have corresponding film options on offer.

Manual film advancement is enabled by a thumbwheel on the back of the camera, while a counter on the top shows the number of exposures taken so far. The inserted film can be viewed through a special window on the back.

Once the film is fully exposed, it is rewound back into its cassette using a crank. Before opening the camera to remove the film and have it processed, this should be done completely to avoid exposure to light and possible damage to the film.
