The Silberra Cinema 54UN is a black and white film. It is offered by the Russian supplier based in Saint Petersburg. It is part of the Silberra Cinema series. Besides the Cinema 54UN there are also the Silberra Cinema 74N+ and the Cinema 52XX.
The production of the film material takes place in Germany. Filmotec GmbH produces it as ORWO UN 54. Among other things, it is used as recording film in film production.
The Silberra Cinema 54UN is a film for monochrome recordings. The sensitization of the emulsion is panchromatic. According to the manufacturer the film should be exposed to ISO 100.
Development of the film
The Cinema 54UN must be developed in a developer for black and white films. The development can take place in a photo lab. You have more control over the result if you develop the film yourself. The film must be developed in complete darkness.
Before developing the actual film, it is advisable to develop several film strips with exposures under the same conditions in different mixing ratios and to try out different development times, especially if there are no manufacturer's specifications for the combination of developer and film. The resulting film strips with the captured images are the result of this development process. Subsequently, either prints in different sizes or a digitalization can be created.
Availability and formats
The Cinema 54UN can only be purchased for 35mm cameras. One roll of black and white film has space for 36 photos. The emulsion is poured onto a triacetate-based carrier. The thickness of the carrier material is indicated as 135 µm.
The film should be stored dry at below 13 degrees Celsius. A humidity of 50 to 70 percent is recommended. After exposure it should be developed as soon as possible.
