It was probably the Polaroid 600 film that was sold under a different name in the South African and European markets. It can be used to take normal color pictures.
The battery for the camera and possibly for a flash is in the film cassette.
The production of the film was stopped. As an alternative, you can use the Polaroid Color Film for 600* in your Polaroid 600 camera.
