Kodak TRI-X 400 is a black and white film. It is one of the most popular, legendary and best-selling black and white films.

The TRI-X is also the oldest film still available on the market. It was introduced in the 1940s as sheet film, and in the 1950s came 35mm and medium format film. The panchromatic black-and-white film has been developed again and again over the years.

In 2007, it was last completely revised.

What distinguishes the TRI-X 400 and has contributed to its popularity as a reportage film for photojournalists is its good nature and flexibility. It can be pushed and puffed by several stops without any problems and is characterized by its wide exposure latitude. It can also convince with its sharpness and grain.

The 400TX is available as 35mm film as well as medium format film. It is developed in a black-and-white developer, which of course does not necessarily have to be from Kodak. An alternative to the TRI-X would be the Ilford HP5 Plus.
