Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 800

  • Manufacturer Fujifilm
  • Sensitivity (ISO) ISO 800
  • Film Type Color negative film
  • Availability Discontinued

The Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 800 is a color negative film. It offers a high nominal sensitivity of ISO 800, along with good exposure latitude, good sharpness with, for this sensitivity, a decent grain and vibrant colors.

For shooting in a low-light situation, indoors, or with a short exposure time, the Superia X-TRA 800 does well. But it can also be used in light-hungry cameras (cameras with a small aperture, like a Holga or Diana).

The Superia 800 got the addition X-TRA during a revision of the film by Fujifilm in 2008, in which it got, among other things, a 4-color layer technology, which is supposed to provide for colorful images in less light.

The Superia X-TRA 800 was only produced for 35mm cameras. In the meantime, Fujifilm has stopped the production of the color film. As an alternative to the Superia 800, you can reach for the Kodak Portra 800*.
