The Sprocket Rocket Coconut is a special edition of Lomography's popular panoramic camera. It was likely introduced in 2024.

This is a version of the camera with a white body. The Sprocket Rocket White Edition is not the first version in white. The new version is distinguished by the slightly different color of the camera name printed around the lens.

Technical Features

This device features a permanently integrated super wide-angle lens with a 30 mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/10.8. Its sleek plastic design creates a distinctive image impression, characterized by pronounced vignetting and image sharpness that drops off towards the edges.

Photographers can choose between two exposure times with the Sprocket Rocket: a fast 1/100 second for everyday subjects and the bulb mode, which enables long-exposure shots. The lack of a shutter lock function opens up the possibility of creative multiple exposures.

The film advance is operated manually, and the film can be both advanced and rewound.

Two focus distances are available: a close-up range of 0.6 to 1 meter and a setting of 1 meter to infinity for more distant objects.

Other features include a hotshoe for attaching external flashes and a thread on the bottom for tripod mounting.

Film Selection and Development

Standard 35mm film (eBay / Amazon*) is used in the Sprocket Rocket. The special exposure method means that a 36-frame film roll only provides enough material for approximately 18 panoramic images. Color negative film with an ISO rating of 400 is particularly recommended, as it ensures great versatility under changing lighting conditions.

To preserve the distinctive sprocket holes, it's important not to trim the film along the edges of the perforations during the development process, as is usually the case. For panoramic prints, which aren't part of the standard offering, you'll need to contact a specialized lab or digitize the negatives and then print them yourself.
