The Porst Reflex FX3 is a SLR camera. It was produced from 1967 to 1971. It is the successor of Porst Reflex FX2 and the predecessor of Porst Reflex FX4, the 35mm camera was built by Pentacon and sold on the market under the name "Pentaflex SL".
The lenses of the Porst Reflex FX3 are interchangeable. She comes with an M42 thread. The M42 thread is standardised and manufacturer-independent, which is why a large number of lenses have been produced. You have to focus the lens manually.
The exposure must be measured externally. The 35 mm camera does not have an exposure meter. The desired exposure time as well as the number of f-stops can be set by the user. As there is no light meter, no battery is needed.
The 35 mm camera has a bulb mode. With the Bulb setting, it stays open as long as the photographer holds the shutter release button down. An external flash can be used via the PC flash socket. The flash sync speed is 1/40 second.
Films for the Porst Reflex FX3
The Porst Reflex FX3 exposes 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced by different producers. Two great films for the 35mm camera are the Fujifilm Superia 400* and the Kodak TRI-X 400*. Both can be used to take beautiful color or black and white pictures.
The bottom of the camera features is a thread for a mounting a normal tripod. There is also a connector for a cable release. At a size of 710 grams the weight of the camera body is 15 x 10 x 8 cm. For the picture taking the camera needs no batteries or energy.
The Porst Reflex FX3 is no longer produced. The price for a used copy depends on the condition.
