The Polaroid SX-70 Executive is an instant camera. It was manufactured by the American company from 1975 to 1977. The functional range is similar to the original Polaroid SX-70.
The reflex camera comes with a fixed focal length. 116 mm is the focal length of the lens. The maximum aperture is f/8. The lens is focused by hand. The Polaroid SX-70 Executive does not have an autofocus function. The closest focusing distance of this lens is 26.4 cm. As you know it from an SLR, the viewfinder is connected to the lens via mirrors. The camera can be folded for transport.
The Polaroid SX-70 Executive has a built-in light meter. The exposure settings are determined automatically by the camera. The exposure can only be changed with the light/dark control.
The Polaroid SX-70 Executive has no thread for a tripod. Also missing is a self-timer. However, a flash can be connected to the socket on the top of the camera.
Films for the Polaroid SX-70 Executive
The SX-70 is designed for the instant image format of the same name. After the bankruptcy of Polaroid, production of these instant films was discontinued. Today you can buy them again under the brand name "Polaroid Originals".
One package contains a film cassette with eight frames. There is a colour film, Polaroid Color Film for SX-70*, and a film for black and white, Polaroid B&W Film for SX-70*.
The exposure area of the Polaroid SX-70 Executive is 7.9 x 7.9 cm. The rest of the instant image is filled by the iconic frame.
The camera is powered by a battery in the film pack / film cassette.
The Polaroid SX-70 Executive is no longer in production. The prices for the camera vary depending on its condition. Usually the price is higher than the original SX-70.
