The Nikon AF200 is a camera from Nikon. It is one of the less high-quality cameras of the Japanese manufacturer. It was introduced in 1993 and is the successor of the Nikon RF10. The model was also marketed under the name "Nikon Fun Touch 2".
The 35mm camera comes with a fixed lens. The focal length is unchangeable and is 34 mm. The largest available aperture is f/4.5. A lens cover is integrated directly into the camera. Manual focusing is not necessary with the 35mm camera. The Nikon AF200 comes with an autofocus. The minimum distance to the subject must be 120 cm.
The 35 mm camera has an exposure meter. It is designed for films of ISO 100 and ISO 400. The Nikon AF200 determines the correct film speed via the DX code. The aperture and exposure time are set automatically and cannot be changed.
The camera comes with a built-in flash. For ISO 100 films it ranges from 1.2 meters to 3.5 meters. For shake-free pictures the camera has a tripod thread.
According to the manual the camera weighs 200 grams and measures 12.8 x 4.8 x 7.1 cm. The 35mm photo camera is powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). These should be sufficient for about 18 rolls of film. The film is automatically rewound by the 35mm camera.
Films for the Nikon AF200
The Nikon AF200 is a film camera and is equipped with 35mm film. 35mm film is still easy to get and is developed by most photo labs. A great choice of film is Kodak Ultramax 400* for color images and Ilford HP5* for B/W images.
The colour film is processed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab. The black and white film must be processed in another developer. There is a variety of different combinations. Usually, the best results are achieved by developing the film individually.
