The Minolta Vectis Weathermatic Zoom is an underwater camera for the APS format. It was introduced in 1998 and produced in China. With it, dives up to 10 meters are possible.

The camera comes with a fixed zoom lens. The focal length range is from 30 mm to 50 mm. The largest available aperture is f/4 at 30 mm and f/6.4 at 50 mm. The camera is equipped with an infrared autofocus.

Shooting is made easier by the built-in light meter. It was designed for APS films with a sensitivity of ISO 25 to ISO 3200. The film speed is determined via the PQI code. The exposure is set automatically by the camera. There is a built-in flash for shooting in low light conditions.

Photographs can be taken in various modes. These are set with a wheel on the top of the camera. You can choose between OFF, full auto, anti-red-eye flash, flash on, flash off and night portrait. Additionally, a rewind of the film can be triggered. Furthermore, the image format (Postcard, Large and Panorama) can be selected.

The Minolta Vectis Weathermatic Zoom comes with a self-timer and the possibility to immortalize the date on the pictures.

The Vectis Weathermatic Zoom is designed for the APS format and requires the appropriate films. Unfortunately, these are no longer produced today. There is no replacement and it doesn't look like the film format will come back.

The film in the camera is transported automatically. The power supply of the 35mm camera is a CR2 battery (eBay / Amazon*). This battery supplies power to the small LCD display, among other things.

In addition to the Vectis Weathermatic Zoom, there was also the Minolta Weathermatic-A and the Minolta Weathermatic 35 DL.
