Minolta SR-T 100b

The Minolta SR-T 100b is an SLR camera. It was produced by Minolta from 1975 to 1977. It is the successor of the Minolta SR-T 100 and is a revised version of the entry-level model. However, there were no major changes in this model. The camera was sold in Europe as SR-T 100b. The same model was available in North America under the name SR-T 200.

The lens of the 35mm photo camera is interchangeable. Lenses with the Minolta SR bayonet can be used. Often you meet the 35mm camera with the Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/2. But there are also other lenses with different focal lengths for this SLR. The model does not have an autofocus system.

There is a built-in light meter in the photo camera. It is designed for films from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The film speed is set manually. The light metering of the correct exposure is done through the lens of the SLR camera. The shutter speed and aperture can be freely selected by the photographer. A needle in the viewfinder indicates how close the selected setting is to the correct exposure.

The mechanical shutter offers speeds from 1/1000 second to 1 second. With the SR-T 100, the fastest shutter speed was still 1/500 second. For long exposures, there is a Bulb mode. The camera can also be mounted on a tripod for this purpose.

The Minolta SR-T 100b has a connection for a cable release. However, this model does not have a self-timer. A flash, on the other hand, can be connected. Here you can use external flashes with cable or hot-shoe.

According to the manual, the camera weighs 675 grams and measures 14.5 x 9.5 x 4.75 cm. The camera needs a 1.35 V mercury battery for the exposure meter. However, you can also do without the exposure meter and thus use the camera without batteries. This especially makes sense since you can no longer buy the batteries for the camera today.

Films for the Minolta SR-T 100b

Without photo films, nothing works with the Minolta SR-T 100b. More precisely, the camera needs 35mm films. After each picture, you have to manually advance the film. During this step, the frame counter also jumps up one number. Also the return transport into the cartridge works mechanically with a crank.

This type of film is still produced and can be processed by most photo labs without any problems. Available photo films for the Minolta SR-T 100b that are easy to get are the Kodak T-Max 400* for B&W shots and the Kodak Portra 400* for color photos. Of course, there are a variety of other 35mm films available for this camera.
