The Lomo'Instant Marrakesh was introduced in January 2016. It is a special edition of the Lomo'Instant. The version is named after Marrakesh or Marrakech, the city located in the southwest of Morocco, also known as the "Pearl of the South".
In terms of functionality, it does not differ from the other Special Editions.
Included with the Lomo'Instant Marrakesh are the camera, three lenses, color filters for the flash, and instructions, among other items. As of January 2016, the price for the set is called 149 euros.
In addition to the Marrakesh, there are other Special Editions of the instant camera, such as the Lomo'Instant Sanremo, Montenegro, Boston, Kyoto, Havana, and Reykjavik.
Function overview
The camera offers three modes of operation: auto flash, manual flash, and manual mode without flash. In auto mode, a sensor measures the lighting situation and selects the appropriate flash level accordingly. In manual flash mode, the user can choose between exposure times N and B and fire the flash. Manual mode without flash is similar to manual flash mode, but the flash does not fire.
The Lomo'Instant is powered by four AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), which also power the built-in flash. The camera has a switch for multiple exposures, a thread for a tripod, a port for a cable release, and a mirror on the front for self-portraits or selfies. The camera comes with color filters that can be used to colorize the flash or later images as desired.
The Instax Mini film that the camera is designed for is still in production and is readily available. For color shots, there is the Instax Mini Film*, while for black and white shots, the Instax Mini Monochrome* is recommended. Each film cassette contains ten images.
