The Lomo'Instant Kyoto was introduced in July 2015. It is a special edition of the Lomo'Instant.
The design of the camera from Lomography is apricot and decorated with a pattern on the front. The name of this edition was borrowed from the Japanese city of Kyoto in the Kansai metropolitan area.
In terms of functionality, it is identical to the normal camera.
Films for the instant camera
The Lomo'Instant Kyoto must take pictures to make the Instax mini films. These are produced by the Japanese company Fujifilm. Films are not included with the Lomography Instant camera. Also not included are the two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*) needed to take pictures.
For fans of black and white photography, Fujifilm offers the Instax Mini Monochrome*. The color film is also available in various Special Editions.
Features of the instant camera
Features of the camera include the multiple exposure switch, a thread for a tripod, a port for a cable release, and a mirror on the front of the camera for self-portraits/selfies.
The camera's manual focus feature allows the photographer to control the depth of field of the image. The ability to choose between two exposure times gives the photographer more freedom when shooting long exposures and light painting.
The automatic flash mode makes it easier to shoot in difficult lighting conditions and ensures correctly exposed images. The manual flash mode gives the photographer the possibility to use the flash selectively, for example to achieve special effects. The manual mode without flash enables long exposures without flash.
The mirror on the front of the camera facilitates selfie shots, while the thread for the tripod makes it easier to use the camera for long exposures and self-timers. The cable release connector provides further options for remote control of the camera.
