The Lomo'Instant Automat Cabo Verde is an instant camera. It was introduced on May 31, 2017. The design of the camera from Lomography is green and white.
In terms of functionality, it is identical to the "normal" Lomo'Instant Automat. The Special Edition is named after the African island nation of Cape Verde. The African country consists of the nine inhabited Cape Verde Islands and has about 524000 inhabitants. The capital is Praia.
The package includes the camera, a lens cap with remote shutter release, color filters for the flash, magnetic stickers, adhesive dots, photo frames and photo clips, and a manual with shooting tips.

Films for the instant camera
To take pictures, the Lomo'Instant Automat Cabo Verde requires Instax Mini films. Films for this format are manufactured by Fujifilm.
The Instax Mini format is the smallest instant format on the market. The dimensions of an Instax Mini image are 8.6 x 5.4 cm. The dimensions of the captured image are 6.2 x 4.6 cm. The size is comparable to that of a business card.
The instant pictures are in a special film cassette. The cassette with the pictures goes into the camera. One cassette can take ten pictures. If the frame counter shows zero, the cassette has to be replaced. You have to pay around 70 cents per picture.
After the exposure, the camera ejects the picture. The image is then developed within a few minutes. The image quality is impressive for an instant picture. The white frames around the picture can be spiced up with pens and stickers.
For fans of black and white pictures, there is the Instax Mini Monochrome*. Of the color film, there are several Special Editions (eBay / Amazon*). A good application for the Instax Mini format is weddings and scrapbooking.
