Exposure and Creative Modes

An integrated exposure meter is present in the 35mm camera. It is compatible with film speeds from ISO 12 to 3200. Film sensitivity is automatically read via the DX code on the film cartridge but can also be set manually.

The 35mm camera offers three exposure modes to choose from: program auto, aperture priority, and fully manual control, where aperture and shutter speed can be freely selected. An LCD screen displays the selected settings.

For long exposures, there is a Bulb mode, allowing the shutter to remain open for a variable time. The camera also enables unlimited multiple exposures.

The camera model is equipped with a built-in flash that features creative modes. The range is up to 4 meters at ISO 400. An external flash unit can be connected using the PC flash socket.

The Lomo MC-A has a self-timer function with selectable times of 2, 10, or 30 seconds, perfect for group shots or selfies. Additionally, it offers a 1/4-inch tripod socket on the underside of its robust metal body.

Body and Accessories

With dimensions of 125.8 x 69.5 x 42 mm, the Lomo MC-A weighs 332 grams (without battery), according to the manufacturer. The camera requires a CR2 battery, which is rechargeable via USB-C and included.

Useful accessories are also included in the scope of delivery, such as a splitzer attachment, colored flash filters, an MC-UV glass filter, a leather-covered lens cap, and a leather wrist strap.

Films for the Lomo MC-A

The Lomo MC-A is designed for the 135 film format (35mm film). The production of 35mm films is still ongoing, and they can be easily developed by most professional photo labs.

Possible films for the Lomo MC-A that can still be purchased today include Kodak Ektar 100* for color photos and Ilford Delta 400* for B/W images. Both films deliver decent shots and are well-suited for everyday use according to test reports.

The color film must be developed using the C-41 process. Most external photo labs are capable of performing the C-41 process.

The camera's negatives measure 24 mm x 36 mm (full frame). The film is advanced to the next frame manually, and rewinding is also done manually using a lever.
