The La Sardina - Quadrat is a 35mm camera from Lomography. It was introduced by Lomography in 2011 together with the La Sardina - Cubic, La Sardina - Domino and La Sardina - Möbius. The Pattern Edition was released a week after the Metal Edition (Czar and Beluga).

The wide-angle camera has a houndstooth pattern printed on it in black and yellow. On the flash and on the edge of the camera this is black and white.

The La Sardina (eBay / Amazon*) has a super wide angle with a focal length of 22 mm made of plastic. The MX switch allows for easy multiple exposures. Long exposures also possible with the Bulb mode. The camera also has a connection for a remote shutter release and for a tripod.

The 35mm camera comes with a flash, the "Fritz the Blitz". This is supplied with juice by a CR 123A battery (eBay / Amazon*).

The Photo Accordion, a leporello, is in the same design as the camera. It is included with the camera.

Films for the camera

Here are some tips for using films with the La Sardina square. This camera is designed for 35mm film, which is still being produced today and can be processed at most outside photo labs.

If you want to shoot color, we recommend Kodak Ultramax 400* film, while for black and white shooting, Ilford Delta 400* is recommended. Of course, films from other manufacturers can also be used with this camera.

The color film is developed in the C-41 process, which almost all photo laboratories can carry out. For black and white film development, you can either go to a photo lab or develop it yourself at home. There are many online guides for developing black and white film at home.
