The Kyocera T-Zoom is a 35mm camera with a zoom function. It was manufactured by Kyocera for itself, and also sold as Yashica T4 Zoom and Yashica T-Zoom.
The Kyocera T-Zoom comes with a built-in Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar T* 28 mm – 70 mm. Depending on the zoom level, the maximum aperture is between f/4.5 and f/8. Focusing is automatic and the minimum distance to the subject is 50 cm.
The Kyocera T-Zoom sets the exposure settings itself. The exposure meter records all 35mm films (eBay / Amazon*) with a sensitivity between ISO 50 and ISO 3200. If the cartridge's DX code is not recognized or does not exist, the sensitivity is set to ISO 100. Once the image is in the box, the film is automatically advanced.
Other functions include the self-timer, the built-in flash and a long exposure mode. If desired, the current date can also be included in the image.
With a size of 11.3 x 6.25 x 3.95 cm, the Kyocera T-Zoom weighs 195 grams according to the instructions. The camera requires a CR123A battery (eBay / Amazon*), which provides the power for all camera functions .
Films for the Kyocera T-Zoom
The Kyocera T-Zoom is designed to expose 35mm format films. Even today there is still a production of 35mm films that can easily be developed at most external photo laboratories.
For color images with this camera, it is recommended to use Fujifilm Superia 400*, while for black and white images, it is recommended to use Kodak TRI-X 400* is recommended.
To develop the color film, it is processed using the C-41 process. C-41 films are available from most photo labs. To develop color films, you can also rely on various large drugstore chains in Germany. The black and white film must be processed in a developer such as Rodinal or XTOL.
