The Kodak Star 435 is a snapshot camera. It was produced by Kodak from 1990 to 1994. The target group for the camera, which was built in Taiwan, was beginners and hobby photographers.
The 35mm photo camera comes with a fixed lens. The focus of the lens is fixed. You also can't adjust the exposure directly. There is a switch on the front for setting the ISO value of the film. Here you have the choice between ISO 100 / ISO 200 and ISO 400. Depending on the setting, the camera selects a different aperture value.
The Kodak Star 435 has a built-in flash. This is folded upwards. The mechanism also serves to protect the optics. There is a light on the back. The light signals that the flash is ready for use. According to the instructions, the power is supplied by 2x AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). Here, of course, you can reach for rechargeable ones.
Films for the Kodak Star 435
The Kodak Star 435 was built for the 35mm format. 35mm film is still produced today and can be developed in most labs. A good choice for color and black and white images is made with, for example, the Kodak Gold 200* and the Kodak T-Max 100*. The two can convince in reviews and are well suited for everyday use. Adox, Foma, Rollei and Co. also offer films for this format, of course.
The development process for color film is the C-41 process. This development process is offered by most labs. The black and white film must be processed in a suitable developer. There are instructions for the appropriate development steps for most films.
The photo camera negatives have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film must be rewound manually by the photographer. There is a thumbwheel on the back of the camera for this purpose. There is also a window through which the inserted film is visible. Of course, the back may only be opened at the end of the roll. When the film is full, you can see through a frame counter on the back, among other things.
The model comes with a black plastic case. A camera strap or camera loop can be attached to a corresponding attachment on the camera's housing.
