The Kodak KD60 is a snapshot camera. It was manufactured by Kodak and presented in the 90s. The camera was aimed at hobby photographers and occasional users. In addition, the Kodak KD65 was produced as a model with the option of imprinting the date of capture.
The 35mm camera comes with a fixed focal length lens. The lens is called "Ektanar 28mm f/4.5 Ektanar" and consists of three elements. The lens has a focal length of 28mm. With the Kodak KD60 you do not have to focus by hand. The camera has a 4-zone infrared autofocus. The closest focusing distance of this lens is 80 cm.
Photography is made easier by the built-in light meter. This is designed for an ISO range from 100 to 1000. The 35mm photo camera reads the ISO value via the DX code on the cartridge. The aperture and exposure time are set automatically and cannot be changed. The camera can choose between f/4.5 to f/13 and 1/150 s to 1.2 s.
In low light conditions the built-in flash can be used. The power ranges up to 3.7 meters at ISO 100. The automatic flash can also be switched off. There is also a mode for avoiding red eyes.
Another mode is the infinity focus mode for landscape photography and the panorama mode. The Panorama mode crops the image by two bars at the bottom and top to give the impression of a panorama. The selected mode, the number of captured images and the battery status are shown on a display.
The Kodak KD 60 has a built-in self-timer and a thread for a tripod. Also an eyelet for a camera loop is not missing. The dimensions of the compact camera are 12.3 x 6.8 x 3.2 cm. It weighs 170 grams. The power supply is provided by a CR 123A battery (eBay / Amazon*) (suitable as replacement for the expensive K123LA). The battery also provides the necessary energy for motorized film transport.

What films does the Kodak KD60 need? Black-and-white and color films of the 35mm format are used. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. A nice film for color images is Kodak ColorPlus 200* and for black and white images Ilford XP2 Super*. Both films are very flexible and produce reliable results.
