Hema Miffy Disposable Camera

  • Manufacturer Hema
  • Type Single-use camera
  • Type of Film 35mm
  • Max Aperture -
  • Focus Fixed focus

The Miffy disposable camera, available at Hema, is a charming single-use camera. It's well-suited for parties, vacations, and weddings. It will be sold in 2025 for around 19 euros in Germany.

The edition is limited. The housing is surrounded by a cardboard sleeve. The paper is printed with the Miffy character.

Unlike many 35mm cameras, the lens on this model cannot be changed, as it is a permanently installed component. The camera's focus is fixed, which greatly simplifies operation. A minimum distance of 1.5 meters from the subject is recommended for sharp images.

The camera has neither a light meter nor manual exposure settings. The user only needs to press the shutter button to take a photo.

The built-in flash provides good illumination, and its use is particularly recommended indoors or in low-light conditions to avoid underexposed, i.e., too dark, pictures. To activate the flash, the flash button on the front must be held down until a red indicator light on the top of the camera lights up.

A battery for the flash is already built into the camera.

Instructions for Use

The camera is very easy to use and requires no prior photographic knowledge. Since there is no light metering, the correct use of the flash in insufficient ambient light is crucial for successful photos.

Film Selection and Development

With this camera model, the film cannot be changed, as it is already loaded. The camera is equipped with an ISO 400 color film, which is sufficient for 27 exposures. The development of this color negative film is done using the standardized C-41 process, a process offered by most photo labs.

Hema and Miffy

The Dutch department store chain Hema, founded in Amsterdam in 1926, is known for its wide range of articles produced exclusively for the chain at affordable prices.

Miffy, originally "Nijntje" (Dutch for "rabbit"), was created in 1955 by the Dutch artist Dick Bruna. The character enjoys great popularity worldwide and is known for its minimalist design with clean lines and primary colors. The collaboration between Hema and Miffy brings together two Dutch icons and includes a variety of products featuring the beloved bunny girl.
