The HARMAN Reusable Camera is an uncomplicated 35mm camera aimed at those who want to explore the world of analogue photography in a simple and sustainable way. Unlike disposable cameras, the HARMAN camera can be used over and over again, making it a more environmentally friendly option. It is still offered by Harman, the makers of the Ilford films, and is still relatively new.
With its durable ABS plastic body, the camera is lightweight and compact, meaning it can easily fit in any bag and be taken anywhere. The operation is extremely simple and intuitive. The film is transported manually using a thumbwheel, and the user has to rewind after each frame. There are no complicated settings or menus to make getting started with analog photography difficult.
The camera has a fixed lens with a focal length of 31mm and an aperture of F10, ideal for snapshots and everyday subjects. The focus is fixed, allowing the photographer to concentrate on composing the image without having to worry about adjusting the focus. The shutter speed of 1/120 second ensures sufficiently short exposure times in most situations to ensure blur-free images.
The integrated flash can be switched on in poor lighting conditions or indoors. This is activated via a simple slide switch and has a recycling time of 15 seconds. For optimal illumination of the subject, a distance of 1 to 3 meters should be maintained.
Films for the 35mm camera
The HARMAN Reusable Camera is compatible with all standard 35mm films, both in color and black and white. The scope of delivery already includes two Kentmere Pan 400 films, which are characterized by their high sensitivity and versatility. A good color film is Kodak Ultramax 400*. After inserting the film, you can start taking photos immediately.
