The Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo is a hybrid instant camera, a mix between an analog instant camera and a digital camera. It is equipped with a 1/5 inch CMOS sensor. This sensor, like a digital camera, captures and stores the image. Then you can select the image and expose it on the instant film.

Camera functions

From the normal camera functions, the Evo is very similar to other modern instant cameras, but of course has some special features due to the digital functions.

The camera comes with a fixed lens. The focal length is roughly equivalent to a 28mm lens in 35mm format. It has a maximum aperture of f/2. In macro mode, you can get up to 10 cm close to your subject. Focusing is automatic with the autofocus system.

Exposure settings are set automatically by the camera. The camera automatically selects an exposure time (1/8000 second to 1/4 second) and an ISO value. The sensor supports values from ISO 100 to ISO 1600, and the white balance can be set if desired. There is also an exposure compensation.

Of course, the camera couldn't be without an integrated flash. The flash is activated automatically when taking pictures. However, it can also be forced Especially in low light conditions, you are often grateful for the flash.

As known from other cameras, there is a self-timer. This has a lead time of 2 or 10 seconds.

Filter effects

A special feature for the instant camera, which is of course not possible with analog cameras, are the selectable filters. Turning the lens triggers a different lens effect. A wheel on the back selects a film effect. Additionally, you can save your favorite combinations with a shortcut.

In total, there are ten lens filters and ten film filters, which means 100 possible combinations.
