The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Minnie Mouse is a special edition. It was presented in collaboration with Disney. It has the same functionality as the normal Instax Mini 8. You could buy it until 2014.

Design of the camera

The camera is a pink Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 with a Minnie Mouse design. It has a large, round lens ring with a Minnie Mouse pattern and a red kissing lip on it. There is a small picture of Minnie Mouse at the top right and the words "Minnie Mouse" are written at the bottom left of the front

Instant camera functions

The Instax Mini 8 impresses with its easy handling: pressing the button next to the lens brings it to life, gently pressing the lens puts it into sleep mode.

Four different modes (Indoors, Cloudy, Sunny, Very Sunny) adapt to the lighting conditions, the LED display reflects the camera's recommendation. Rotating the lens allows you to easily switch between modes.

The viewfinder serves as a rough guide for the image section because it is not directly connected to the lens. An operating manual is usually unnecessary because the handling is self-explanatory.

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 has a built-in flash that fires automatically with every shot and has a range of up to 2.7 meters. There is no provision for manually deactivating the flash.

The image section is ideal for portraits and selfies; there is no zoom. A small mirror next to the lens helps you create self-portraits.

A tripod thread, remote shutter release and self-timer function are not available on the Instax Mini 8.

There is a frame counter on the back that shows the number of shots remaining. Eyelets on the side allow you to attach a hand strap or camera strap.

Film options for this camera

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 is designed for the Instax Mini format, for which Fujifilm produces the appropriate instant film.

This format is the smallest on the market and half the size of the Instax Wide format. One image measures 8.6 x 5.4 cm, with the actual image measuring 62 x 46 mm and the rest making up the frame. A debit card can serve as a size comparison for an Instax Mini image.

The instant images are housed in a cassette that is inserted into the camera. Each cassette contains ten images. As soon as the image counter shows zero, a cassette change is necessary. The cost per image is approximately 70 cents.

Once the image is ejected, development only takes a few minutes. The color films (Instax Mini Film*) are characterized by intense colors, while the white frame can be designed as desired with pens and stickers.

The Instax Mini Monochrome* is available for black and white recordings. The Instax Mini format is often used at weddings and in scrapbooking.
