The Lomography Fisheye One Mike Perry Edition is a special edition of Lomography's Fisheye One 35mm camera, developed in collaboration with artist Mike Perry. It was sold at Urban Outfitters.
Mike Perry is a versatile artist and animator, best known for the iconic title sequence of the comedy series "Broad City".
The camera is characterized by its striking design, which is different from other models. It is pink and has abstract patterns in different colors. The fisheye lens is surrounded by a green ring, and the shutter button is also pink. A yellow strap is included.
Functionally, the Fisheye One Mike Perry Edition is the same as the classic Fisheye One. It has a built-in flash that is powered by an AA battery (eBay / Amazon*), which is only needed for the flash, as the rest of the camera works mechanically. The film is transported via a thumbwheel on the back.
The Lomography camera actually does not offer any setting options. Focus, aperture and shutter speed are fixed. Only the flash can be switched on/off.
The camera uses commercially available 35mm films (eBay / Amazon*), which can be developed and digitized in most photo labs. For optimal results, films with high sensitivity and a large exposure range are recommended. Suitable films are available from suppliers such as Kodak, Lomography, Fujifilm or Foma.
You can use color films, but also black and white films. The fisheye lens only exposes part of the image, more precisely only a round image in the middle of the rectangular film format. This makes the camera more suitable for playful images than for serious, documentary shots.
