The Fisheye No. 2 Paul Smith is a limited edition. It was introduced in 2008 and was created in collaboration with the artist Paul Smith. It was sold on the official Paul Smith website for $150.
The body of the camera features the signature Paul Smith stripe pattern, known for its colorful and playful aesthetic.
Features
The Fisheye No. 2 Paul Smith is an analog 35mm camera from Lomography that is characterized by its characteristic fisheye lens. This lens is fixed and offers a focal length of 10 mm with a maximum aperture of f/8. The focus is fixed, which means that all subjects within a certain distance range are sharply depicted.
The camera does not have an internal exposure meter, so it is necessary to make the exposure settings manually or use an external light meter. A bulb mode is available for long exposures, in which the shutter remains open as long as the shutter button is pressed. A built-in flash and a hot shoe for external flash units enable shooting in low light conditions.
Batteries and films
The Fisheye No. 2 Paul Smith is powered by one AA battery (eBay / Amazon*), which is required to operate the flash and other functions. Commercially available 35mm film can be used as film material, both color and black and white. Popular options are the Kodak Gold 200* for color shots and the Ilford XP2 Super for black and white shots.
After exposure, the films must be developed using the C-41 process, which is offered by most photo labs. The negatives are the standard format of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is transported manually, as the camera does not have an automatic film transport motor.
The Fisheye No. 2 Paul Smith is a limited edition and is no longer produced. Used copies are available on the second-hand market, although prices may vary depending on condition.
