The Carena Compact AF comes with a lens that cannot be changed. The focal length of the lens is 34 mm. The maximum aperture is f/4.5. There is no need to focus manually with the 35 mm camera. There is an autofocus system built in. The closest focusing distance is 1.2 meters. This value indicates how close you can get to your subject.
The 35 mm camera has an exposure meter. It can be used to set the exposure for film with a sensitivity of ISO 100 to ISO 1000. The film speed is read out via the DX code. The aperture and exposure time are set automatically by the camera.
The autofocus camera has a built-in flash.
Films for the Carena Compact AF
The Carena Compact AF is a film camera and is loaded with 35mm film. Films of this format are still readily available today and are still developed. Nice films for black and white or color images are the Ilford FP4 Plus* and the Kodak Ultramax 400*.
The color film is processed using the C-41 process. The C-41 process is standardized and offered by most developing labs. Developing 35mm color film is possible, for example, at most drugstore chains in Germany.
The Carena Compact AF has a thread for a tripod and self-timer. The 35mm camera measures 11.2 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm.
The production of the Carena Compact AF was discontinued. You can only find it used today. How the condition is and if it still works decides the value of the camera nowadays. The price is probably in the low euro range.
