In 1919, Karl Vockenhuber, Alois Handler and Adolf Halpern founded the company “Elektrizitäts- und Metallwaren-Industrie-Gesellschaft m. b. H.”, or Eumig for short, in Vienna. Over the years, radios, tape recorders and cassette decks were built. Probably best known are the products for film recording. It was primarily with film cameras and projectors that Eumig made its name.
Over the years, some still cameras were also offered by the Austrians.
