Arsenal

Kiev Arsenal (Казенне підприємство спеціального приладобудування) was a camera manufacturer from Ukraine. Founded in 1764, the state-owned company was mainly active for the military. At that time they did not produce cameras. Then, during the Soviet period, cameras and optical instruments were produced.

After the Second World War, the first camera of the Kiev model series was produced. This was based on German technology from the Carl Zeiss company and was influenced by the Contax cameras. One of Arsenal’s well-known cameras was the Kiev 88 medium format camera.
