The camera with its plastic housing has a fixed lens. The lens has a focal length of 28 mm. With this very wide-angle lens, the camera is well suited for landscape or street photography. An autofocus system determines the focussing of this model. A sliding door protects the lens from external influences.

The camera has no manual setting options for the exposure. The aperture and shutter speed cannot be changed.

A tripod thread is provided on the underside of the camera. A self-timer function is not available on the Olympus camera.

However, a camera strap can be attached to the Olympus Trip AF 60. At the time, it was sold with a matching bag.

If a little more light is required, the integrated flash triggers. The flash has an automatic function to prevent red-eye in the pictures.

The flash and the rest of the camera are powered by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). These are also the power source for the automatic film transport.

Films for the Olympus Trip AF 60

The instructions for the Olympus Trip AF 60 indicate that the camera uses 35 mm film. This type of film is still being produced and can be developed in most photo labs without any problems.

For vivid colour photographs, Kodak Gold 200* is recommended, while Kodak T-Max 400* provides excellent results for black and white images. Both films are known for their reliable quality and have proven themselves in tests.

The colour film was specially developed for the C-41 process, which is a widely used standard in photo labs. Well-known drugstore chains in Germany also develop C-41 films.

The film is automatically advanced in the camera by an integrated motor after each shot. As soon as the film is fully exposed, it is automatically rewound into the film cassette. It is possible to speed up this rewinding process manually by pressing a button provided for this purpose on the underside of the camera.

Quartz Date Version

In addition to the standard version, a Quartz Date version is also available. The Olympus Trip AF 60 QD model is characterised by an integrated clock that makes it possible to record the time and date directly on the photos by superimposing this information in a corner of each image.
