The Fisheye No. 2 Papaya Pop is a 35mm camera from Lomography that was released in March 2024. This variant of the Fisheye No. 2 has the same functions as other editions. The housing is a bright orange colour.
The lens of the 35 mm camera is fixed and not interchangeable, with a focal length of 10 mm and a maximum aperture of f/8. The camera does not allow precise adjustment of the distance to the subject, as the focus is fixed.
It is important to note that this camera does not have an integrated light meter and therefore external metering is required. A special mode enables long exposures with the 35mm camera. In addition, the camera is equipped with a built-in flash, and external flashes can be used via the hot shoe for more flexibility in lighting.
The camera requires an AA battery (eBay / Amazon*) (not included), which provides the power for all functions. The scope of delivery includes a hand strap and a lens cap.
Films for the camera
Films are also not supplied. The Fisheye No. 2 Papaya Pop exposes 35mm film according to the operating instructions. The continuing demand for 35mm format films has led to manufacturers continuing to produce films for this format.
Recommended films for the Fisheye No. 2 Papaya Pop are the Fujifilm Superia 400* for colour photos and the Ilford HP5* for b/w images. However, there are also other films that are compatible with this camera. For example, you can also use the wide range offered by Lomography itself.
The negatives of the Fisheye No. 2 Papaya Pop have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. The photographer must manually advance to the next image, and a roll of film usually has space for 36 images. Under no circumstances should the camera be opened if there is still film in the camera. The cartridge can only be removed once the film material has been rewound using the crank.
