The Silberra PAN100 is a black and white film. Silberra is from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and offers various films under the Silberra brand.

Presumably, the film stock was manufactured by Agfa. An alternative option is the Silberra ULTIMA100, which is cast on a thinner base, but is otherwise identical to the PAN100.

The Silberra PAN100 is a monochrome film with a panchromatic speed, meaning that it is capable of reproducing the entire visible spectrum of colors in grayscale. The manufacturer specifies the film speed of the Silberra PAN100 as ISO 100, which means that it is best used in normal daylight conditions or in good artificial light.

One advertised advantage of the Silberra PAN100 is its high sharpness and fine grain. This means that photos taken with this film will have sharp details and crisp lines without the grain being too coarse or distracting. This makes the Silberra PAN100 ideal for shooting where a high level of detail is required, such as landscape, architectural, or portrait photography.

Another advertised feature of the Silberra PAN100 is its moderate contrast and wide tonal range. This means that the film is able to reproduce details in both the dark and light areas of the image without any loss of information. This produces photos with well-balanced tonal values that cover a wide range of grayscale from deep black to bright white.

Film development

Developing film, especially black-and-white film such as the PAN100, can be done either in photo labs or at home with the right supplies. The choice of developer can have a significant impact on the final result.

Source

It is not uncommon for developers to not have specific instructions for developing certain types of film. In such cases, it may be useful to create test strips to find the optimal settings for the desired film. The developed film strips with the captured images are the result of the development process.

Development is usually followed by the creation of prints or digitization. Many labs also offer the ability to create prints in various sizes as an additional option during image development.

Digitizing

Digitizing film strips with a scanner presents itself as an option for further processing. There are professional (expensive) photo scanners as well as scanners for home use in various price ranges that are suitable for digitizing negatives. After digitization, the files can be printed in various forms, such as a poster or a photo book, or shared on social media.

Formats

In 35mm format, the PAN100 is exclusive and allows you to take up to 36 photos with one B&W film. There are a variety of manufacturers such as Zenit, Lomography, and Nikon that offer cameras specifically for the 35mm format. In addition, there are other camera models that are compatible with 35mm film.
