Agfa XRG 200 35mm - Review - 02

The Agfa XRG 200 is a color negative film from Agfa. Unfortunately, the film is no longer produced, but I was lucky enough to test two rolls of 35mm film. The expiration date is 2007, so it can no longer be called fresh film. But it didn't harm it, the overage may have even improved it.

I used it on a sunny day in summer in my Olympus Trip 35. I exposed at ISO 200, although with expired films it's usually better to overexpose them a bit as they lose sensitivity over time.

The result were colorful shots with strong saturation, probably enhanced by the age, and good contrasts. The photos also show visible grain, which is not necessarily surprising for the age of the Agfa XRG 200, but it doesn't bother at all. It even supports the retro look of the images very nicely.

Unfortunately, as already said, it is no longer produced, but it can't hurt to keep an eye out for this film.
