Which films fit the Holga 120 N and which would you recommend?

The Holga 120 N, FN, TLR, GFN, GCFN, GN, SF, S and CFN require medium format films. A blanket recommendation for a film is always quite difficult, as it always depends on the subject, lighting conditions and desired results.
The Holgas are quite light-hungry, meaning they need quite a lot of light for a decent photo, so the film should be sensitive enough.
If you are not shooting in bright sunlight or in the darkest cellar, a film with a sensitivity of ISO 400 would be a good choice. For example, the Lomography Color Negative 400 120 (Amazon), Kodak Portra 400* or the Pro 400H from Fujifilm (Amazon) would be suitable.
All films are developed in the C-41 process. This development process is standardized and carried out by most professional photo labs. The cost of developing a medium format film is usually slightly higher than that of a 35mm film.
As a slide film for cross processing in C-41, the Lomography X-Pro Slide 200 120 (Amazon) would be an option. And for images with a redscale film, the Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 120 (Amazon) is a possibility.
Of course, you can also take black and white photos with the Holga.
The Ilford XP2 Super (Amazon) would be an option for the Holga, it is developed in the same process as color negative films (C-41) and can therefore be processed in the same lab as the other films.
If you develop the films yourself or have a good lab at hand, you can of course also use "real" black and white films. When developing at home, you have full control and in the long run also a significant cost advantage. Among others, the Kodak TRI-X 400*, Fomapan 400*, Ilford HP5* or the Kodak T-Max 400* should be mentioned.
