The Praktica Super TL 2 is a single lens reflex camera. It was built between 1975 and 1978 by Pentacon.
The lenses of the Praktica Super TL 2 can be easily interchanged. A M42 lens mount was installed for this purpose. M42 lenses are attached to the camera by means of a screw thread. The lens mount is very common. The lens mount was originally invented by Carl Zeiss in Jena, East Germany. Zeiss, Pentax, Beyer-Optik and Pentacon have produced, among others, lenses for the screw thread. The lens is focused manually. The Praktica Super TL 2 does not have an autofocus system.
The camera comes with an exposure meter. As with most SLR cameras, exposure is measured trough the lens. The desired exposure time can be determined manually. The aperture is also individually selectable. The camera comes with a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time and expose the film. An external flash can be connected via hot shoe.
Films for the Praktica Super TL 2
The Praktica Super TL 2 must be equipped with 35mm films. This type of film is still being produced and can be processed by most photo laboratories without any problems. For color shots there is the Kodak Gold 200*. One way to get black-and-white images is the Kodak T-Max 100*.
The 35mm camera comes with a thread for a tripod. It is also possible to use a cable release. The power source of the 35mm camera is one VARTA V 625 battery (eBay / Amazon*).
The 35 mm camera is only available in used condition. The price you pay for a used copy of the Praktica Super TL 2 depends on the condition and functionality.
