The Porst Reflex FX2 is a SLR camera. It was presented by Photo Porst in the 1950s and was built by VEB Kamerawerke Niedersedlitz. It is the predecessor of the Porst Reflex FX3 and the 35mm camera was also marketed under the name Praktica FX2.
The Porst Reflex FX2 offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. For this purpose, an M42 thread was installed in the camera. It is necessary to focus the lens manually, as it was usual at this time.
The exposure is not measured by the camera. The aperture and exposure time can be freely selected. The SLR does not require batteries.
The 35 mm camera comes with a Bulb setting option. An external flash can be used via the PC flash socket.
Films for the Porst Reflex FX2
The Porst Reflex FX2 needs photo film, more precisely 35mm film. The 35mm format is very common, which is why there are still some manufacturers and many development laboratories. Nice films for black-and-white or color images are the Ilford HP5* and the Kodak Ultramax 400*.
The Porst Reflex FX2 offers the possibility to connect a cable release and has a thread for a tripod. At a size of 635 g the weight of the camera body is 15 x 9 x 5 cm. No power is needed for shooting pictures with the camera.
The 35mm camera can today only found in used condition. The prices for the Porst Reflex FX2 vary depending on the condition.
