This model was developed in collaboration with CertainTeed. The model has a color scheme with blue and black. Next to the flash you can find the CertainTeed logo. CertainTeed is a North American manufacturer of building materials. The company is today

The Polaroid Spirit 600 CertainTeed impresses with its ease of use. Many of the setting options available on other types of cameras have been eliminated. The ease of use results in a low barrier to entry and thus a wide range of possibilities for areas of application.

For example, weddings or parties would be good areas of application for the camera. The instant camera also cuts a very good figure on vacation.

The basic exposure settings cannot be changed. For example, the aperture and shutter speed cannot be changed by the user. The photo camera comes with a fixed lens. The model does not have a zoom function. For close-ups, you have to get closer to the subject instead of pressing the zoom button.

The shortest distance for focusing is 120 cm. This distance must be at least maintained to achieve razor-sharp results.

Of course, the camera must not be without a built-in flash. The flash is triggered automatically when the photo is taken. Especially in low light conditions, you are often grateful for the flash.

Films for the Polaroid Spirit 600 CertainTeed

You can not do without, if you want to take photos, the appropriate instant films for the instant camera. The American company Polaroid, the manufacturer of the camera, has given up the production of films. For some time now, new film material for the 600 format has been produced again.

There is both a color film and a black and white film available for the camera. The Polaroid Color Film for 600* is the material for color pictures. Simple black and white images are easily possible with Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. The films are popular with a wide range of photographers.

The material of one pack is enough for eight pictures. The film material is sensitive to light and therefore should never be exposed to light before shooting. It can be stored for a long time in a dark and dry place.

Each of the eight pictures measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. An area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm is provided for the actual picture. The remaining area of the picture is white. Available are also editions of Polaroid films with colorful frames.

Batteries

Do you need a specific type of battery for the Polaroid instant camera? With this type of camera, the power source is found inside the film cassette. The disposable battery is rated high enough to last for all unexposed photos in the cassette. Even when using the flash for each shot. So changing the film is also changing the battery. There is no need to buy an additional battery for the camera.

If the camera with film has been stored for a long time, the battery may have discharged. As a result, the camera will no longer work. The solution to the problem is to replace the old film with new film stock with a new battery.

Instructions for the Polaroid Spirit 600 CertainTeed

How to use the instant camera? A guide to taking pictures with the camera.

The first step is to load the film. To do this, first push the slider on the side forward that the film door opens. Then the film cassette is inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The film protecting the film is now removed by the motor in the camera.

Now you can take pictures with the camera. Sight the subject through the viewfinder and press the shutter button. After the picture is taken, it is immediately transported out of the camera. It is passed through two metal rollers that distribute the developing chemicals evenly over the image. When the development process of the instant image is completed after a few minutes, the photo can be closely examined.

Alternative Models

If you can’t find this model, you can consider other options. Here, of course, the first option is the Polaroid One Step Flash. It offers the same feature set and requires the same films.

However, one may want to try something new. Two instant cameras are the Instax Mini 90* and LomoInstant*. The instant films are still produced for these models as well.
