The Polaroid P-Cam Coke is an instant camera from Polaroid. The model is technically based on the Polaroid P. It is the result of a collaboration between Polaroid and Coca-Cola. It is not the first collaboration with the American company.

The design of the camera is silver and black. The logo of the American beverage company can be found on the top of the camera.

A plus point of the Polaroid P-Cam Coke is its ease of use. If you are used to many settings on your camera, you won’t find them on this model. Its simplicity allows it to be used on many occasions. For example, it is an excellent option for parties and weddings. You can also have a lot of fun with it on vacation.

It is not possible to adjust the exposure settings. The shutter speed is not adjustable. There is also no dial for the aperture value. The optics have a fixed focal length. There is no provision for changing the lens. You have to do without a zoom, which is common for smartphones, in this model.

Therefore, you have to move a few steps closer to the subject for close-ups. It is best to keep a distance of 60 cm to the subject. Otherwise, you will not find anything more than blurry on the finished photos. The camera comes with a close-up lens.

An integrated flash must not be missing in this camera, of course. The flash fires automatically. Especially in low light conditions, you are often grateful for the flash.

Films for the Polaroid P-Cam Coke

You also need films for the use of the Polaroid camera, of course. The US company Polaroid, the manufacturer of cameras, has had to give up film production. However, films are being produced again under the same brand name.

Both a color film and a black-and-white film are available for the camera. For color photos, the Polaroid Color Film for 600* is the appropriate choice. If you prefer to take monochrome pictures, you can use the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. Both films can deliver good results in tests.

One box is enough for eight shots. The instant films are very sensitive to light. Contact with light before shooting should therefore be avoided. A dark and dry place is perfect for storage over a long period of time.

The size, 10.8 x 8.8 cm cm, of an image has not changed over the decades. At the same time, the captured image takes up an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm. All the remaining space of the Polaroid picture is white. Editions with multicolored frames are also available.

Important, Fujifilm instant films cannot be used in the instant camera.

Batteries

Do you need batteries for the Polaroid P-Cam Coke? In this type of camera, the battery is located in the film cassette. It provides the camera with enough power to take photos. So changing the film is also changing the battery. It is the only power source that the camera requires.

After the film is empty, the film cassette should not be disposed of in the household waste. It is better to take the plastic cassette or battery to an appropriate local drop-off location.

Instructions for Polaroid P-Cam Coke

How to use the instant camera? A brief guide on how the instant camera works.

First, insert the instant film. To do this, slide the slider on the side forward and open the film door. Then the film cassette is inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The protective cover of the film ejects automatically.

Now it’s time to take the picture. By pressing the release button on the side of the housing, the photo is taken. The development of the image starts after the motor has transported the image out. When the development process of the instant photo is completed after a few minutes, the photo can be closely examined.

Alternative Models

If you can’t find this model, you can resort to alternatives. As the first obvious option, one can choose the Polaroid P. It has the same features and requires the same films.

A new angle is brought by other manufacturers of cameras. A good start is the Instax Wide 300* and LomoInstant Square*. Fresh film stock can still be purchased for the cameras.
