The Polaroid Now Generation 3 MoMA Edition is an instant camera. It was introduced in May 2025. It is a special edition in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art. Along with the camera, a special edition of instant film was also presented.
The camera’s new price at launch is around €140 in Europe.
The Museum of Modern Art was founded in New York in 1929. Today, one of the most important collections of modern art is located there. In the past, MoMA has also collaborated with Lomography.
Features of the Polaroid Now Gen 3
As an instant camera, the Polaroid Now Gen 3 has various technical features. An autofocus system for automatic focusing and a double exposure option, which allows multiple exposures on a single photo, are integrated.
A built-in flash is available for illumination in insufficient light conditions, and a self-timer is also included.
A built-in battery, rechargeable via a USB-C port, provides power.
Compatible Films
The Polaroid Now Gen 3 MoMA Edition primarily uses i-Type films, which were developed for Polaroid cameras that do not require a dedicated power source in the film pack. These films are available in color, black and white, and in special editions with varying frame colors.
An example of a currently available color film is Polaroid Color Film for i-Type*. For black and white photos, there is the Polaroid B&W Film for i-Type*.
Each film cassette contains film for eight images. The image development process begins immediately after exposure and takes a few minutes. The finished photographs exhibit the typical look of Polaroid instant photos, including the surrounding frame.
The camera is also compatible with Polaroid 600 film. While these have the same format as i-Type films, they contain a built-in battery, which was necessary for the operation of older Polaroid camera models. Because the Polaroid Now Gen 3 is equipped with its own rechargeable battery, the battery in the 600 film cartridges is not required. i-Type films do not contain such a battery.
