The Polaroid Image 2 is an instant camera for the ImageSpectra format. It was sold in North America under the name “Polaroid Spectra 2”.
The Polaroid Image 2 comes with a fixed focal length lens. The photographer has no way to adjust aperture and exposure time. The camera takes care of the exposure completely. The Image 2 also takes care of focus and flash, if necessary, automatically.
The user can only have a slight influence with the light/dark slider on the back of the camera. On the left side of the instant camera is a strap for the hand. This is adjustable and, according to the manual, should make taking pictures easier. The shutter release button is located at the back of the top.
Films for the Polaroid Image System are restored. The company “Polaroid Originals” offers a color and a black and white film. In one package of the Polaroid Originals Color Film for Image & Spectra* or the Polaroid Originals B&W Film for Image & Spectra* there are eight shots and the battery for the camera. This is in the film holder and is automatically changed with each film change.
