The Polaroid Fendi is an instant camera. The Special Edition was created in collaboration with Fendi. It is part of the “Fendi Summer 2021 Capsule Collection” and was introduced in May 2021. The price for one copy is just under 1000 US dollars.
The camera is a remanufactured Polaroid One Step (rounded corners). The specimens were tested for functionality and restored accordingly if there was a hitch somewhere. Then the whole case was covered with the FF Vertigo design, many colorful “F”.
Fendi is an Italian fashion company that operates internationally. It is particularly known for its fur goods, handbags and other leather goods and is part of the LVMH group. Fendi describes the FF Vertigo design as a “magnetic motif that features a twisted, turned version of the classic FF logo. The FF Fisheye logo, which features a wavy and flowing appearance of the signature FF logo, is placed on the front of the camera. The design was created by Sarah Coleman.
The instant camera has a fixed lens where the focus is fixed. For close-ups, there is a close-up lens that slides in front of the regular lens.
The exposure, i.e. aperture and shutter speed, is set by the camera itself. It can be influenced somewhat with the bright/dark slider. In the upper right corner is the built-in flash.
Films for the instant camera
The Polaroid Fendi is designed for the 600 format. Suitable films for the instant camera are the Polaroid Color Film for 600* and the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. They can be used to take color and black and white pictures. The unexposed images are in a film cassette. In the new films, the number of pieces is eight. The film cassette also contains the battery for the camera.
