The Polaroid 600 Extreme is an instant camera. It is identical to the Polaroid 600 (round top) in terms of the feature set.
The camera’s casing is made of plastic and is mostly black. However, some details like the wrist strap or certain buttons are in a striking orange, which gives the camera an additional splash of color. The camera’s plastic casing ensures that it is very light overall and can therefore be held comfortably in the hand. The orange wrist strap provides additional support and increases the security that the camera will not be dropped accidentally.
Operating the Polaroid 600 Extreme is extremely easy and you don’t really need any instructions. The camera takes care of most of the settings automatically. The photographer doesn’t have to do much more than press the shutter button. There is no tripod socket and no self-timer.
The Extreme is designed for Polaroid’s 600 format. Instant film for the Polaroid 600 Extreme is still manufactured today by The Impossible Project, but no longer by the former photography pioneer. They will be sold in 2020 but again under the original brands. Suitable for color photos are the Polaroid Color Film for 600* and the Polaroid B&W Film for 600* is the best choice for monochrome images.
The battery that powers the camera and built-in flash is located in the film cassette. Therefore, there is no separate battery compartment. A test of the functions can also be performed with an empty film cassette.
The camera was sold in a gift set with the matching film. In addition to the camera, the package also contained a box of Polaroid 600 extreme gloss/brilliant instant film.
