The Polaroid 600 Business Edition 2 is an instant camera. It was presented to the public in the 90s. The range of functions of the model coincides with the Polaroid One Step (rounded corners). The body is black and the shutter button is red.

The Polaroid 600 Business Edition 2 impresses with its lightness and ease of use. Most of the settings that you are used to on other types of cameras are not available on this model. The ease of use allows for a low barrier to entry and thus many options for areas of use. It is a good choice for weddings or at other celebrations. It is also a good choice for vacations.

The most important settings are fixed on the camera. The shutter speed and aperture cannot be changed by the photographer. The lens has a fixed focal length. It is not possible to change the lens. The model does not have a zoom function. Therefore, you have to take a few steps closer to the subject for close-ups. The closest focusing distance is 60 cm. This minimum distance has to be kept for sharp pictures when using the close-up lens.

You don’t have to do without a built-in flash with the instant camera. When the shutter release is pressed, the flash is automatically activated. The relatively small aperture makes the use of the flash particularly useful indoors.

Films for the Polaroid 600 Business Edition 2

Of course, instant film is also required for use of the instant camera. The production of the original consumables has since been discontinued. New film stock for the 600 format has been produced again for some time.

There is a color and black and white film for the 600 format. The name of the color film is Polaroid Color Film for 600*. To shoot black and white images, you can reach for the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. Both films are a popular choice.

One pack is enough for eight pictures. The light-sensitive material must not come into contact with light under any circumstances. The ideal storage conditions are found in a clean and dark place.

As prescribed in the standard, one image measures 10.8 x 8.8 cm. On an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm is the captured image. The rest is filled by a white area. Editions with multicolored frames are also available.

Not compatible are the films from the Japanese Fujifilm.

Batteries

What type of battery is needed for the Polaroid 600 Business Edition 2? With this type of camera, the power source is found inside the plastic case. The disposable battery supplies power to the camera with flash. So with each film change, the battery is also changed. A second battery is not required for the instant camera.

If the camera has been stored for a long time, e.g. in the basement, the battery in the film cassette may have discharged. Without sufficient power, the camera will then of course no longer function. In this case, it is sufficient to remove the photographic film and replace it with new film material.

Manual for the Polaroid 600 Business Edition 2

How does the instant camera work? A brief guide on how to use the Polaroid camera.

The first step is to load the film. To do this, move the slider on the side forward to open the film cover. Then the film cassette is inserted. Then the cover can be closed again. The camera now directly removes the protective film of the film.

Now you can take pictures with the camera. To do this, press the subject with the camera and press the release button. The motor inside the camera transports the image out of the film cassette. In the process, it passes through two rollers, which distribute the chemistry for development over the image. Within a few minutes, the process of developing the image is finished and you can admire the final result.

Similar models

If you can’t find the camera, you could turn to alternatives. Here, for instance, the Polaroid 600 Business Edition* and Polaroid OneStep Express* come to mind. These models come with comparable functional features. They are also suitable for the 600 format.

You might also want to reach for other instant cameras as an alternative. Two instant cameras are the LomoInstant Wide* and Diana Instant Square*. Suitable film stock will continue to be produced for both cameras.
