Nikon L135AF

The Nikon L135AF is a snapshot camera. It was presented in 1984 by the Japanese manufacturer. The model is the second member of the L-series and followed the Nikon L35AF. Compared to the L35AF, however, the compact camera is slightly longer and could not impress so much with its workmanship.

The camera comes with a fixed focal length. 35 mm is the focal length of the lens, which consists of four elements in three groups. The maximum aperture is f/3.5. The 35mm photo camera has an autofocus and a built-in lens cover.

The Nikon L135AF has a built-in light meter. The shutter speed and aperture are selected by the camera. There is a warning in case of camera shake due to a too slow shutter speed.

The camera can be used with films of ISO 100, ISO 400 and ISO 1000. Sensitivity is set with a slider on the front of the camera. The small selection of sensitivities, especially compared to the L35AF, significantly limits the pool of films.

Which films does the Nikon L135AF need? It needs 35mm film. The exposure area of the 35mm camera is 24mm x 36mm. With this size, 36 frames fit onto a normal film.

35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. A good choice of film is the Kodak Ultramax 400* for colour pictures and the Ilford Delta 100* for black and white pictures.

The colour film is designed for development in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is standardised and is offered by most development laboratories. The black and white film must be processed in a black and white developer.
