News Review - September 2014

In the last month there were some news in the film world that we would like to cover in this article.

Ferrania

Also from Ferrania there is news. To now deliver the first films, they need some help from future users and have started a Kickstarter project.

A total of $250,000 is to be raised to buy back the old production equipment and to package and ship the first films. Already, 22 days before the end, $211,000 of that amount has been raised.

The film that is to be produced first is a revised version of ScotchChrome. It is offered as a 35mm and medium format film, and for filmmakers it is also available in Super 8 and 16mm formats.

In addition, there were of course some announcements for new special editions. For example, there is the B&W Film for 600 Round Frame, a black and white film for the old Polaroid 600 cameras where the actual image is round.

Another version is the B&W Film for SX-70 Hard Color Frames, where the frames around the monochrome image are in bright colors, as with the Impossible B&W 600 Hard Color.

The limited Color Film for SX-60 Lulu Guinness is a collaboration between Impossible and designer Lulu Guinness. A pack of film for Polaroid SX-70 cameras contains eight pictures, seven of which have the frame printed with black and red lips, while the eighth frame is simply red.

Fujifilm

Finally, back to the topic of instant photography with a heavyweight.
Fujifilm has introduced a new instant camera, not for the Instax Mini format, but for the somewhat neglected Instax Wide format.
