Fujifilm presents the instax mini 99 in the Silver color variant

Fujifilm is expanding its range of analog instant cameras with a new version. The established instax mini 99 is now available in the Silver color variant. The body combines metallic silver accents with a matte black surface, drawing on elements of classic camera designs. With a suggested retail price of 199.99 euros, the model is aimed at users who value analog image creation without digital intermediate steps.

The concept of the instax mini 99 is based on creative influence before the actual shutter release. Image composition is entirely analog and requires no connection to a smartphone app or subsequent digital editing. The result is visible immediately after chemical development on the inserted instax mini film.

A central feature of the camera is the analog dial for controlling six integrated color effects. The options are Warm Tone, Faded Green, Sepia, Light Leak, Soft Magenta, and Light Blue. The color tones are generated via an LED lighting system built into the body, which selectively exposes the film with colored light during exposure. This fundamentally differs from digital filter effects.

Additionally, the instax mini 99 offers a manual vignetting function. A switch directly on the lens activates a mechanical dimming that darkens the corners of the instant photo. Further creative freedom is provided by manual exposure compensation options and different shooting modes for various distance ranges.

A small LCD display on the back of the camera makes it easier to control the selected settings and the remaining film count. Advanced photographic techniques such as double exposures or long exposures are also possible with this model. A built-in flash and a self-timer complete the features of the instant camera.
