Diana Baby 110 Pocket Film Camera Introduced

After the Fisheye Baby 110, Lomography releases the next 110 camera with the Diana Baby 110

Die Familie der Dianas von Lomography

Today Lomography introduced their next pocket film camera. The inspiration, as with the Fisheye Baby 110, was an existing camera. The Diana Baby 110 is modeled after the Diana F+, which also served as the model for the Diana Mini 35mm camera.

It is loaded with the recently revived pocket film. Like its big sister, the small Diana Baby 110 captures square images on film. The negative size is just 13mm by 13mm, compared to 5.2x5.2cm for the Diana F+.

The lenses can also be swapped. Lomography currently offers two lenses for the Diana Baby 110: a 24mm standard lens for normal shots and a 12mm lens for wide-angle shots. The focus is fixed and cannot be adjusted.

With the 24mm lens, the focus range is from 1 meter to infinity. With the 12mm lens, everything from 0.4 cm to infinity is sharp. The aperture is fixed at f/8.

There is no pinhole mode like on the Diana F+, but it does have the two known shutter speeds: N (1/100 s) for normal daylight shots and B (bulb mode/shutter stays open as long as the shutter button is pressed) for long exposures and night shots. The switch to change the shutter speed is located on the bottom of the Diana Baby 110.

The small camera does not have a tripod mount or the Diana-typical flash connector. However, a flash can be triggered via the PC sync port using a cable.

Multiple exposures can be created, as with the Diana F+ and Diana Mini, simply by pressing the shutter button multiple times without advancing the film after each shot.

The selection of fresh 110 films for the camera is currently very small; Lomography itself offers only two films: the Orca and the Tiger. A slide film for the pocket film format is expected to follow.

For the Diana Baby 110 with 24mm lens, you need to pay €45 at Lomography. With the 12mm lens, it costs €10 more. The lens will likely be available separately at some point, and special editions will follow.
